Terms of Service – Scanitect AI
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Scanitect AI mobile application ("App") operated by Scanitect ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Description of the Service
Scanitect AI is a vision-based landmark recognition platform. You can take photos of buildings and landmarks, and the App uses artificial intelligence to identify and provide information about them, including historical details, architectural style, and nearby points of interest.
3. User Accounts
To use the App, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Subscriptions and Credits
The App offers subscription plans that provide a certain number of scans per month or unlimited scanning. Subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis through your app store account (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
- Prices are displayed in the App before purchase and may vary by region.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your app store account settings.
- Unused scan credits do not roll over to the next billing period.
5. Permitted Use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers, networks, or security features.
- Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or infringes on the rights of others.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the App or its data.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the App — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, and the underlying technology — are the property of Scanitect or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The information returned by the App (such as landmark descriptions and historical data) is provided for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of this information.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of landmark identification results. The App relies on third-party services (including Google Cloud Vision API and OpenAI) whose availability and accuracy are outside our control.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Scanitect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause and without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Scanitect is established, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
